What is ranger beads?

Ranger beads are also known as pace counters or pace beads. They are a tool used by hikers, hunters, and military personnel to measure distance traveled by foot, count steps, and track progress. Ranger beads consist of a length of cord or paracord with beads threaded onto it, usually in sets of nine or ten. Every time a person takes ten steps, they slide a bead down the cord. After ten beads have been moved, they slide down a special bead or knot to indicate one mile or kilometer distance traveled. Ranger beads can be useful for measuring distances, keeping track of progress, and maintaining a consistent pace. They are also lightweight and easy to carry, making them a popular tool for outdoor enthusiasts.
